The choice of wire rope depends on the application and the safe working load that needs to be achieved. The construction of the rope diameter refers to the diameter, the ‘lay’ of the rope (either right hand or left hand), the tensile strength and the number of individual strands of wire in the rope itself. e.g. 7×19 wire rope (7 lots of 19 wires twisted together) is more flexible than a 7×7 wire rope and therefore more suited to use on a pulley or winch system. The main constructions of wire rope are either wire core or fibre core, the former being harder wearing. Fibre Core 6×7, 6×19 and 6×36 FC (central fibre core) Wire Core 7×7, 7×19, 19×7 (low rotation) and 6×36 IWRC (independent wire core) Wire rope is rated on its Minimum Break Load (MBL) requirements and the ultimate Actual Breaking Load (ABL) the safety factor is then determined by BS EN13414-1: 2003 this rates slings using a factor of safety of 5:1 however performer flying generally uses a safety factor of 10:1. There are many speciality wire ropes available for specific applications lifts/elevators, excavators, marine and fishing to name a few.

How long will it take for my order to be dispatched?

It will depend on the details of the order. For non-manufactured goods, we aim to dispatch the same day for orders placed before noon. For manufactured items then we aim to dispatch within 2-3 days of receipt of order, all goods are sent on a next day service.

Why can’t I buy all your products online?

Because many of the goods we supply are bespoke manufactured, it would be impossible for us to list all the variations online. We would rather give you a custom quote for the item that you are looking for so we can ensure it will suit your application. Do you deliver overseas?

Do all your items come with certification?

All our items that are suitable for lifting will come with the appropriate certification and manufacturer’s instructions for use.

How do I know if the items are in stock?

We try to hold high levels of stock to meet all customer requirements, but occasionally goods can be sold out. We work closely with our UK suppliers to ensure the shortest lead times possible and will always keep customers informed of any delays to their delivery

Yes – every one is welcome to come and look around our showroom and collect orders in person.
